Meet the Writer :)

Hi guys! I am Maddy Hess, a 19 year old from a small town. I have always had a passion for writing. When I was younger I would have never feel comfortable showing my work to someone who wasn’t my english teacher or family member. I also gave up writing for years because I felt at the time it was not important to express myself through writing. I thought that it was never something I would pursue so whats the point? Now, it is something I am pursuing. If school taught me anything it is that I am a damn good writer. So, I am trying to push myself to put my writing out there and get my writing mojo back. I love the feeling of just losing yourself in your writing. Just jotting all your thoughts on paper. Making it all flow so beautiful. In the end, it would become some sort of story, real or not.

I went to a college in Virginia. Then proceeded to transfer to a community college closer to home. College is expensive. Plus, I wamted to be closer to my family because a lot was going on at the time. I am Majoring in art therapy and I am planning on adding a minor in journalism! I will admit, school has never been my strong suit. I hate school, as everyone does. I was always so scared that I would get something wrong and people would laugh. They would think I was stupid because I did not know the answer to the problem.

I have a bearded dragon! His name is Spot. I got him right before I came back from Virginia. He has become my best buddy. My parents had a bearded dragon when I was little and I have loved them ever since. They were almost my dream pet. My real dream pet is a hedgehog, but hedgehogs as pets is illegal in Pennsylvania. I didn’t let my parents know I was getting spot till I had him. I just had to have him. He’s my best friend. I looked in those small black eyes and couldn’t say no. Thankfully, they let me get away with it. Now, he is a big member of the family.

Then theres KJ, he is the family cat and I will be honest with you, he is fucking adorable. He is barely two and all he wants is pets, cuddles and play time. He is also my best buddy. He is weirdly obsessed with Spot. He will not get close to the cage, but he loves to stare at him. We got Spot after him. So, he is not quite sure why there is a small dragon in my room. We rescued KJ after our cat Klaus died. He instantly became the center of all of our worlds.

Then theres the boyfriend. I met him at work! He trained me my second day and ever since we have been inseparable. I am so grateful to have him in my life. He’s the first guy my family and friends actually like. So, you know thats a win. I won the boyfriend lottery. No one can convince me different.

I love music and art. They have been my therapy since I was a little kid. I also, have always been somewhat good at it. I sucked at school, but if you put me in art and music classes all day I would succeed with flying colors. Except a singing or dancing class. I sound like a screaming cat when I sing and I am the whitest bitch ever when it comes to dancing.

I am currently on my way to healing from trauma. Its a weird journey. I don’t know what else to say.
