The Takeover
Let me start this off by saying, I didn’t mean for any of this to happen. I truly thought I was buying an innocent movie prop. How was I supposed to know it was actually some sort of reptilian weapon from space? How was I supposed to know they would come back to claim it?
I tried to bargain with them. I even gave the thing back, but they already made other plans. Apparently they’ve been planning this thing for centuries, thats how the weapon got here in the first place. We have secretly been at war all along. At first, it was handled and under control, but then they started multiplying and we were over run in no time.
Everyone is at war. We have eleven year olds fighting battles against these creatures. Children younger than that are made to work on gathering supplies and making weapons. Weapons that are no use when up against weapons far beyond our capabilities.
No one is safe anymore and its all my fault. How did the guy even get his hands on it to sell it to me? Did he know?
All I know at this point is we are all tired and in survival mode. If it weren’t for everyone coming together we wouldn’t have made it this far. Granted, very few of us have.
We are all losing hope in making it past this.
Even if we do is there enough of us to rebuild the planet?
